LMVAS needs your help to keep your ambulance service local!
EMS Building Expansion
Please help the Lisbon-Mt. Vernon Ambulance Service reach our goal of creating a more efficient space for our members to respond from. Currently our vehicles are stored in two different buildings with inadequate temperature control for storage of expensive medical equipment and medications. This creates issues with storage and longevity of our equipment. To create more challenges for our crew members, LMVAS does not have adequate space to host meetings or trainings at our facility, meaning we have to meet off site and transport vehicles and training equipment to alternative locations.
Phase 1: Phase one of our building expansion will include adding a new apparatus bay to our current facility that will be able to house all of our current units and allow for growth over the next 30 years. This expansion will also allow us to add medical equipment storage so our equipment and supplies do not have to be in multiple different areas within our facility. Plans also include a decontamination area where our responders, many of whom are volunteers, will be able to clean off and exchange clothing after an incident to prevent bringing disease, contaminants, or bed begs back to their homes & families. The estimated cost to complete phase two is $700,000.
Phase 2: Phase two of our project will be converting the existing apparatus bay into a meeting and training area large enough to fit our crew as well as space to run training scenarios. This will help improve meeting and training efficiency as well as allow LMVAS to host community education on site such as CPR and Stop the Bleed classes. The cost of this phase is unknown at this time.
In Memory of Dan Rogers
Dan Rogers was a 20 year volunteer with the Lisbon-Mt. Vernon Ambulance Service up until his passing in 2019. Dan had a passion for assisting the community and quickly advanced his education to that of a paramedic where he provided advanced care to the Mount Vernon and Lisbon communitied for several years. Dan strongly believed the quality education provided at LMVAS as an essential part of the Excellence in EMS that LMVAS strived to provide.
After his passing, Dan's family recognized that Dan could continue to contribute to the LMVAS through a memorial fund aimed at continuing to enhance the education abilities and offerings provided to LMVAS members and volunteers.
